During the Labor Day weekend storm, Milwaukee Ridge Park sustained a lightning strike that damaged multiple systems, including:
- Security cameras
- Controlled access to the courts and bathrooms
- Several electrical outlets
Our vendors and volunteers have been working diligently over the past several weeks to restore each system. We’re now nearing the end of all repairs, and expect everything to be fully operational by the end of this weekend.
To help prevent future incidents, South Plains Electric Cooperative will be installing surge protectors on all three of our park’s electrical meters this Monday. These added protections will safeguard our electronic infrastructure and reduce the risk of similar damage in the future.
The Board sincerely thanks all residents for your patience and understanding during the repair process. We know how much our community values the park, and we’re excited to have everything running smoothly again.
